The Staff Selection Commission will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’ Non- Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’ ) in various Ministries /Department/Organizations including their Attached offices, Subordinate offices and Statutory bodies of the Government of India located in various States and Union Territories. Only those candidates who have Skills in Stenography are eligible to apply.

1. Name of Post: Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’

No.of Post Vacancies: 2006

Age Limit: (As on 01.08.2024)

Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2024, i.e, Candidates born not before 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply.

Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2024, i.e, Candidates born not before 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply.

Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:

For SC / ST Candidates – 5 years.
For OBC Candidates – 3 years.
For PWBD (Gen / EWS) Candidates – 10 years
For PWBD (SC / ST) Candidates – 15 years.
For PwBD (OBC) Candidates – 13 years

Educational Qualification:

Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ – Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University as on or before the Cut-Off date i.e. 17.08.2024

Exam Center in Tamilnadu: Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchirapalli & Puducherry.

Application Fee / Exam Fee for SSC Recruitment 2024

Fee payable: Rs. 100 /- (Rs One Hundred Only).
Women Candidates and Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark disabilities (PWD), and EX-SM eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.
Fee can be paid only through online payment Modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or Rupay Credit or Debit card.
